Authorities are investigating a dramatic overnight theft after an ATM was forcibly removed from the Toledo Urban Federal Credit Union in what appears to be a coordinated operation.
Surveillance footage shows multiple suspects arriving at the location in the early morning hours, reportedly around 4 a.m., before carrying out the bold crime.
Suspects Arrive in Pickup Truck
Security video captures a pickup truck pulling up near the entrance. One suspect appears to exit the vehicle while another remains nearby, suggesting a planned and coordinated effort.
Moments later, the ATM is seen being dislodged from its secured position.
Investigators believe the suspects used heavy equipment and tools to detach the machine quickly before loading it into the truck bed.
ATM Ripped From Interior
Footage from inside the building shows the ATM pulled away from the wall, leaving debris scattered across the floor. The machine appears to have been dragged through the entry area before being transported outside.
Authorities say the force used caused significant property damage, including broken fixtures and structural impact to the entrance.
Heavy Machinery Used in the Theft
Additional surveillance images show what appears to be heavy equipment positioned near the site. Investigators suspect the suspects may have used mechanical assistance to dislodge protective barriers and secure the ATM for removal.
The presence of such equipment suggests the operation may have been carefully planned rather than spontaneous.
Truck Crashes Through Storefront
In one clip, a white pickup truck is seen crashing into a storefront area during the course of the theft. The impact caused extensive damage to the interior, including knocked-over displays and shattered glass.
Law enforcement officials are working to determine whether multiple vehicles were involved and whether the crash was part of the extraction plan.
